Obituary for Anna Wilma Fitzpatrick
Anna Wilma (Sasse) Fitzpatrick, age 89, with loving family present in her Collinsville home joined her Savior on Friday, September 16, 2016. Daughter of August and Charlotte (nee Werner) Sasse, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, "Jack" John Paul Fitzpatrick Jr.

Paul Fitzpatrick, Anita Fitzpatrick, David Fitzpatrick (deceased) & Dennis Fitzpatrick (Kellie White), Grandmother to Kimberly (Hartke) Deters, Michael Fitzpatrick, Erica Fitzpatrick Baird, Jason Stabile, Peter Fitzpatrick Castagna, Shawn Fitzpatrick, Ian Fitzpatrick, Julia White, Rob Fitzpatrick and Beck Fitzpatrick. She was also Great Grandmother to Bryce, Blair, Ryan, Jaelen, Zebulen, Ayden, Elysien, Sophie, Nadia, Maya, Liam, Miles & Connor and Great Great Grandmother to Brylie and Layla.
Friend to the disadvantaged, lover of birds, blooms & nature. Anna was born in Fayette County, Illinois and attended Brownstown and Vandalia High Schools in Illinois. She graduated from DePaul Nursing School and practiced for many years in the maternity ward of St. Elizabeth’s hospital. She was a gifted nurse and loved caring for babies and new mothers. While in nursing school, Anna met Jack Fitzpatrick on a blind date and it was love at first sight. One of their favorite activities was travel and they enjoyed camping, road trips, and travel to Ireland, England, France and Germany. In recent years, Anna also took several cruises with family. Anna was active in many groups including doll clubs, flower club, and her Church where she was involved with preparing and serving funeral meals. Anna doted on her cats and dog. Devoted gardener throughout her life, her green thumb was well-known and her yard was a Certified Wildlife Habitat.

Visitation Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 5-8 pm at the Allan & Ciuferi Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 at 10:00 am at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Maryville, IL, with luncheon following. Father David Wilke will preside. Burial in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
