Obituary for Dorothy F. Kleinschmidt
Dorothy F. Kleinschmidt (nee Finnery), age 83, of Troy, IL, formerly of Winona, MN, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 3:25 a.m. at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL, surrounded by her family.
She was born March 31, 1942 in Chicago, IL to the late William and Mildred (nee Flick) Finnery. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Kleinschmidt, two brothers and five sisters.
Dorothy enjoyed all her jobs, most especially, bagging groceries at Dominick’s Grocery Store in Wheeling, IL and her time as an operator at the Schaumburg Marriott.
She will be missed by her family and friends who loved her. This woman was a bulldog who would give you the shirt off her back and a piece of her mind if she felt you deserved it. Joyful, creative, crafty, generous, stubborn and kind, she would do everything for her family.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Edward (Cari) Kleinschmidt of Troy, IL; Theresa (Bill) Timm of LaCrosse, WI and Rocky (Tracy) Kleinschmidt of Mundelein, IL. Also surviving is a sister, Linda Podkova of Fort Myers, FL and four grandchildren, Nicholas Kleinschmidt, Tessa Kleinschmidt, Carmen Kleinschmidt and Trixie Kleinschmidt.
