Obituary for Gertrude A. "Skip" Swettenham
Gertrude A. "Skip" Swettenham, age 86, of Collinsville, IL passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. She was born December 30, 1927 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Moritz and Monica (nee Berkel) Reelitz. Skip was a homemaker. Besides her parents Mrs. Swettenham in preceded in death by her husband, Harold G. "Pat" Swettenham and five brothers. Surviving are one son, Dennis Swettenham, of Collinsville, IL, two daughters, Linda (Scott) Weber of Collinsville, IL, and Carole (Steve) Griffin of Collinsville, IL, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials are requested to Heartland Hospice. A Memorial Service will be held at the Friendship Baptist Church located at 909 Bethel Mine Road in Caseyville on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. with Brother Ron Beardsley officiating.
