Obituary for Joan Loos
Joan Loos, nee Yates, 91, of Collinsville, IL, born December 25, 1925 in Manchester, England, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Mrs. Loos was a homemaker who loved to garden, took great pride in her flowers and enjoyed bird watching. She was an avid reader of autobiographies and murder mysteries.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll L. Loos, her parents, Harold and Esther (nee Winterburn) Yates, one sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Alex Anderson and one brother, Ron Yates.

Surviving are her son, Kimball (Brenda) Loos of St. Charles, MO, her daughter, Elaine (Jay) Nicks of Belleville, IL, and one sister-in-law, June Yates of Manchester, England.

Memorials are requested to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.acfuneral.com

Visitation will be Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at the Allan & Ciuferi Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

Funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a. m. Friday, June 9, 2017 for a 10:15 a. m. committal service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. Chaplain Andre D’Arden will officiate.
