Obituary for Oliver J. Coulson
Oliver J. Coulson, age 33, of Fairview Heights, born October 4, 1984 in Olney, IL, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Evelyn’s House Hospice surrounded by his family, after a hard-fought battle with sarcoma.
Subsequent to graduating from Triad High School in 2003, he attended SIUE, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. Over the past decade, he worked his way up to being a Project Manager at Tarlton Corp in St. Louis.
In 2013, Oliver was named as one of the St. Louis Business Journal’s “30 under 30” future leaders.
Oliver was a member of Highland Masonic Lodge #583, and volunteered regularly. He served as a navigator at the Siteman Cancer Center and enjoyed taking his dog to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and area Veterans’ Hospitals in cooperation with DUO Therapy Dogs. He was also previously an officer for Habitat for Humanity in Highland, IL.
Surviving are his father, Wes (and Laura) Coulson of Freeburg, IL, his mother, Sara (nee Bariether) Coulson of Troy, IL, his brother, Jonthon Coulson of New York, NY and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be missed by his pets, Janie, Bowie, Carley, Husky, Mrs. Turtle and Soup.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Les & Hilda (nee Hauser) Coulson and his maternal grandparents, F. W. (Hezzy) & Celia Anne (nee Highland) Bariether.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Regency Conference Center, 400 Regency Park, O’Fallon, IL from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. A Masonic Service will begin at 2:45 p.m. The memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Karyle Barnes officiating.
It was Oliver’s wish that, if possible, you wear crazy socks.
