Robert Paul Greaves (Paul), born December 8, 1948, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL.
He attended Collinsville Schools but spent his senior year and graduated in 1967 from Admiral Farragut Academy in St Petersburg Florida. He attended college at the University of Illinois, SIU-Edwardsville and SWIC.
Paul was a Registered Nurse and returned to college to become a Computer Analyst & Programmer. He worked for Gateway Regional Hospital as a psychiatric nurse and phlebotomist, then as a computer specialist for NCR, AT&T & SBC.
His hobby was Genealogy; and he compiled an impressive library of information about his family and met numerous new relatives through his research. He worked with his son’s Boy Scout troop and enjoyed camping & canoeing. Other hobbies included being a beekeeping assistant for a friend and traveling. He loved spending time with family & friends but his greatest joy was his 2 grandchildren.
He married Debbie (Gerding) on April 8, 1978, and they had 2 children.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Robert J and Evelyn (Martin) Greaves, his youngest brother, Henry “Hank” Wolfe Greaves, and a nephew, Matthew Todd Sinise.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie, daughter Corey Greaves, son Robert Walter (Callie) Greaves, and grandchildren Hunter Paul Greaves & Evelyn Ruth Greaves, all of Collinsville. Also surviving are siblings Dr.’s William (Kathleen) Greaves of Milwaukee, WI, Nancy (Richard) Sinise of Wildwood MO, Dr .Scott (Deb) Greaves of Paso Robles CA, Craig (Karen) Greaves of Riverside FL, and numerous nieces, nephews and grand-nieces & grand-nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the Allan & Ciuferi Funeral Home, 314 West Main Street, Collinsville, IL from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am.with Rev. Jennifer Sowell officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Cemetery, Glen Carbon, IL.
Memorials can be made to Collinsville Historical Museum, Alzheimer’s Association or American Diabetes Association. Donations will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Allan & Ciuferi Funeral Home, 314 West Main St., Collinsville, IL 62234.
