Obituary for Robert J. "Bob" Dickhans
Robert J. "Bob" Dickhans, age 87, of Belleville, IL, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 at Stearns Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Granite City, IL. He was born January 9, 1926 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Arthur J. and Josephine (nee Bretz) Dickhans. Besides his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Martha J. (nee Tweedy) Dickhans, a brother, Arthur Dickhans and a sister, Gloria Klemme. Surviving are his daughter, Robbie Williams of Collinsville, IL and a grandson, Nathan Williams. Also surviving are brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was a wholesale lamp salesman for General Electric in St. Louis, Mo for many years. He was also a World War II Army veteran 309th Infantry Regiment Company B - 78th Lightning Division. He was very proud of his service in the Battle of The Bulge and was involved with the taking of the Remagen Bridge in Belgium. Memorials are requested to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a. m. until 12:30 p. m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the Allan & Ciuferi Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p. m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the funeral home. Pastor Mark Horn will officiate. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO
