Obituary for Rollin O. Bardsley

Rollin Orville Bardsley, 88 years of age, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025 at Addington Place of Edwardsville, IL Memory Care.


Rollin was born in Collinsville, Illinois on October 29, 1936 to Orville and Katie (Wachter) Bardsley.


Rollin attended Collinsville schools and graduated from Collinsville High School, Class of 1954 .

Rollin joined the United States Air Force in 1955, proudly serving our great country, he trained and was certified as an Air Traffic Control Tower Operator. With A/2c rank, Rollin received Good Conduct Medal and Honorable Discharge when he left in 1959. Rollin found his way to Harvard Interiors Manufacturing Co. He attended SIUE night school classes from 1960 until 1967 and worked up to Vice President position. He stayed with Harvard until his Retirement.


Rollin was very active throughout his life giving financial support to several charities, Red Cross and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to name a few of the many acts of kindness he had blessed upon others. Rollin also gave his time as a volunteer to the City of Maryville, IL where he lived most of his adult life.


Rollin is survived by his son, Kevin Bardsley, former wife Carol McCarty. Also, niece Dr. Christine Row and niece Diana Schwartz; each with grandnieces, and many friends.


Rollin was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Katie Bardsley, brother John and sister – in law Dolores Bardsley.


Allan & Ciuferi Funeral Home in Collinsville,IL is in charge of arrangements. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Cemetery, Collinsville, IL. Pastor Zach Lysdahl will officiate. Military honors will follow.
