Obituary for Sue Anna Popov
Sue Anna, nee Miranda, age 79, lifelong resident of Collinsville, IL, born May 17, 1939 in East St Louis, IL, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019 at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Sue was a proud mom and Granny. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, HGTV and going to their cabin in Calhoun County. She was an active member of S. S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, serving in many capacities, including, Christian Hospitality, Bereavement Ministry and working the church picnics.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Carolyne (nee Clayton) Miranda, her other mother, Dorothy (nee White) Miranda, two sons, Stephen and Paul Popov, one brother, Sam Miranda and one sister, Margaret Miranda.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, John W. Popov, Jr. of Collinsville, IL, two sons, Mark (Charlotte) Popov and Matthew (Wendy) Popov, both of Collinsville, IL, one daughter, Stephanie (Shawn) Sims of Collinsville, IL, 6 grandchildren, Lauren (Kent) Muniz, Sophia (Ryan) Raede, Seth Popov, Hannah, Holly and Daniel Sims, a sister-in-law, Polly Miranda, four nieces, great nieces and nephews and many great friends.
Memorials may be made in the form of Masses to S. S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church or to the
Church Capital Campaign Fund. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.acfuneral.com
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a. m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 at S. S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 207 Vandalia, Collinsville, IL, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a. m. Father John Beveridge will officiate. Burial will be at S. S. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
