Obituary for Verniece H. Cox
Verniece H. Cox, age 97, of Collinsville, IL, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born December 24, 1917 in Caseyville, IL to the late Alexander D. and Mary A. (nee Seipp) Haig. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard A. Cox, Jr., one brother, Irvin Haig and five sisters, Euphemia Haig, Inez Kuhlmann, Iva Mowe, Elvera Pazdera and Margaret Haig. Verniece was a homemaker and a life long member of Caseyville United Methodist Church in Caseyville, IL. Surviving are her daughter, Mary K. Mulvaney of Swansea, IL, three sisters, her twin, Berniece Lunde of Collinsville, IL, Audrey LaSurs of Collinsville, IL, and Marilyn (Robert) Bussen of St. Cloud, FL, one grandson, Gary Mulvaney of Memphis, TN, two great granddaughters and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Memorials are requested to the Caseyville United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Caseyville United Methodist Church in Caseyville, IL, with Pastor Dan Harry officiating. A private burial will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
