Obituary for Ernestine A. Gower
Ernestine A. Gower, nee Giacoletto, age 98, of Collinsville, IL, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
She was born June 15, 1924 in Collinsville, IL to the late Joseph Giacoletto and Irene (nee Galli) Mottin. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Orville (Bill) Gower, who passed away January 8, 1986, one sister, Margaret Welle and one brother, Joseph Giacoletto.
Ernestine worked at Illinois Bell Telephone Company from 1942 to 1955 and then CPI Corp. in St. Louis from 1980 to 1993 when she retired.
Surviving are her son, George (Toni) Gower, of Waterloo, IL; two daughters, Margaret Dotson of Collinsville, IL and Kathy (Chester) Yung of Smithton, IL; 8 grandchildren; Scott Gower of Keyesport, IL, Steve (Julie) Gower of Edwardsville, IL, Eric (Carrie) Gower of Waterloo, IL, Krystal (Darren) Irby of Granite City, IL, Jason Platz (Becky) of Collinsville, IL, Bill Dotson (Jessica), Ann Dotson and Cynthia Dotson all of Collinsville, IL and 3 great grandchildren; Bryce and Mackinzie Gower of Waterloo, IL and Reagan Gower of Edwardsville, IL.
She was a member of S. S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, IL, and the Ladies of the Knights.

Per her request she donated her body to St. Louis and Washington University Schools of Medicine.
There will be a Mass held at S. S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville in her honor at a later date.
