Obituary for John P. "Jack" Fitzpatrick, Jr.
John P. "Jack" Fitzpatrick, Jr., 89, of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. He was born February 3, 1924 in East St. Louis, Illinois, to the late John and Edith (nee Meehan) Fitzpatrick, Sr. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his son, David Fitzpatrick and a sister, Winona Keller. Surviving are his wife, Anna (nee Sasse) Fitzpatrick of Collinsville, IL, two sons, Paul Fitzpatrick of Collinsville, IL and Dennis Fitzpatrick of Valley Park, MO, a daughter, Anita Fitzpatrick of Bellingham, WA. Also surviving is a brother, Thomas Fitzpatrick of Florissant, MO, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Jack was a World War II Navy veteran. He worked as a Cartographer for the U. S. Government for over 25 years. He was a member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, IL, and was very active in the Boy Scouts in East St. Louis, IL. Memorials are requested to the Collinsville Area Ministerial Association Food Pantry. Visitation will be on Monday, February 11, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 p. m. at the Allan & Ciuferi Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, IL. Burial will at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Father Steve Sotiroff will officiate.
