Obituary for Melvin J. "Mel" Lochmann
Melvin J. (Mel) Lochmann, age 88, of Ellisville, MO, formerly of Bonne Terre, MO and Collinsville, IL, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Gambrill Gardens in Ellisville. He was born April 20, 1925 in Collinsville, IL to the late John T. and Mary (nee Froehrich) Lochmann. He married the former Joyce (Lowe) Lochmann on June 18, 1949 in Collinsville, IL. She precedes him in death. He is also preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Kreider. Mr. Lochmann was a World War II Navy veteran and a long time member of the United Church of Christ in Bonne Terre and Collinsville. He held the positions of Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Controller at various Detroit Diesel Distributorships. Surviving are two sons, Mark J. (Ann Fergus) Lochmann of Houston, TX, and Ross (Linda) Lochmann of St. Louis, MO, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Memorials are requested to the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Bonne Terre, MO and will be accepted at the funeral home. Visitation will be Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 10:00 a. m. until 12:00 p. m. at the Allan & Ciuferi Funeral Home in Collinsville, IL. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p. m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Tony Minear will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
