Obituary for Patsy R. Masur
Patsy R. Masur, age 77, of Collinsville, IL, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Patsy was born August 18, 1936 in Sikeston, Missouri to the late Marvin and Louise (nee Beck) Walker. She relocated to East St. Louis and graduated in 1954 from East St. Louis High School. She married Donald L. Masur on August 7, 1954 and they made their home in Collinsville, IL in 1961. She was a dedicated wife, mother and very caring individual. She loved working with people, enjoying jobs that included sales, working in a deli, driving a school bus and in 1980 becoming an LPN. She loved her job as a nurse. She enjoyed traveling, bunco, gardening and canning the fresh produce that she and Don would grow every year. Her favorite pastime was going to the casinos. She enjoyed spending her time with family and friends, and never knew a stranger. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Linda Link. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald L. Masur of Collinsville, IL, three daughters, Debbie (Gary) Peccola, Donna (Dan) Smith and Dawn (Mark) Farnworth, all of Collinsville, IL. She is also survived by one brother, Herb Walker of Sunbury, OH and two sisters, Bonnie Dyer and Norma Porter both of Sikeston, MO. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Mark Smith of Ocean Springs, MS, Julia Smith of Biloxi, MS, Melissa Farnworth Allen of Bloomingdale, GA and Matthew Farnworth of Collinsville, 5 great grandchildren, Ashton, Clark, Kara, Racheal and DJ and several nieces and nephews. A gathering will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Allan & Ciuferi Funeral Home in Collinsville from 4:00 until 7:00 p. m. with a Memorial Service at 7 p. m. Rev. Mark Powell will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the Billhartz Animal Shelter in Collinsville.
