Obituary for Annamae Sutton
Annamae Sutton, age 90, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, formerly of Collinsville, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon. She was born June 29, 1924 in New Athens, Illinois to the late William and Margaret (nee Martine) Roedersheimer. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie H. Sutton and two sisters, Thelma Roederrsheimer and Ruth Weber. She is survived by one son, Donald (Shari) Sutton of San Diego, CA, one daughter, Peggy (Dennis) Diaz of Collinsville, IL, 5 grandchildren, Alyson (Andrew) Kleine of Collinsville, IL, Cortney (Matthew) Schraut of St. Louis, MO, Jamie (Mandy) Sutton, Colin and Cody Sutton, all of CA, and three great-grandchildren, Anna and Joseph Schraut and Lea Sutton. Also surviving are many other relatives and friends. Annamae received a scholarship and attended Juilliard School of Music in New York City. She retired in 1989 from AT&T as a long distance operator. She was a member of S. S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville where she once served as choir director and soloist for many years. She was a former member of BPW, Collinsville Women's Club and Past-President of Collinsville Jr. Service Club. Memorials are requested to S. S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Music Fund or St. John's Community Care. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at S. S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville from 10:00 a. m. until 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a. m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014. Father Steve Arisman will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
